Services

We provide access to a wide range of services, including the following:

  • Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. We offer a wide-range of treatment modalities including cognitive behavioral treatments, insight-oriented therapy (for older adolescents and adults), and other eclectic/integrative approaches.

  • Adult Therapy. We provide support to adults, helping them cope with a wide-range of problems, including depression, anxiety, child illness, and couple and family problems. We have unique capabilities that enable us to help executives deal with career and work-related challenges.

  • Executive Function Coaching. We have a great deal of experience helping children, adolescents, and adults cope with organizational issues, attentional problems, and other learning difficulties.

  • Couple and Family Therapy. Couple or family therapy provides a safe atmosphere where individuals can express their thoughts and feelings with the support of a therapist who can help identify maladaptive patterns of interaction, clarify communications, and suggest more adaptive problem-solving strategies.

  • Neuropsychology. Neuropsychological assessments can clarify diagnoses and help parents understand symptoms such as poor grades, low test scores, test anxiety, difficulty focusing and paying attention, an inability to understand directions or carry out a task to completion, etc. This, in turn, allows us to create a more comprehensive treatment plan. Neuropsychological and learning assessments are often used in the diagnoses of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD); reading, math and written expression learning disorders; pervasive developmental disorders such as Asperger’s and autistic disorders; coordination disorders; articulation disorders; and traumatic brain injury. The results enable us to recommend specific strategies for teachers and parents to use to facilitate learning and social development.

Psychiatric services, including medication evaluations and assessments, and follow-ups, are available from psychiatrists in private practice co-located on the premises.

Parent coaching workshops on a wide range of topics including parenting best practices; coping strategies that kids can use to manage stress; family communication; marital and family conflict; common mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and ODD; LGBTQ issues; and much more.  Our workshop format gives participants the opportunity to ask questions and engage with others around critical issues of shared concern.

Intensive Outpatient Program. We provide half-day, intensive outpatient programs for children who need more extensive support. Programs are customized to meet the needs of the child and can include, but are not limited to, the following: psychiatric services, individual psychotherapy, family therapy, tutoring, executive function coaching, and instruction in specific areas of interest such as computer coding, drawing, etc. The goal of the program is to provide a structured, enriched environment for children who need more extensive treatment.

In-home family therapy. When high levels of conflict are present, it can be advantageous to work with a family in their home. This allows us to identify overt and subtle patterns of behavior and response that underlie the symptoms. The process starts with a period of observation. The goal at this point is to identify behaviors and patterns of interaction (triggers and reactions) that sustain maladaptive behaviors and lead to escalations. New coping or parenting skills are provided that enable the family to avoid escalations in the future and resolve problems more effectively.
