Rand J. Gruen Ph.D.

Dr. Gruen is the founder and Executive Director of Westchester CAPS. Prior to establishing the center, he was an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at NYU Medical Center. He has more than 30 years of experience working with adolescents, adults, and couples, and has expertise in the areas of depression, anxiety, oppositional defiant disorders, stress disorders, and couple and family problems. Dr. Gruen received his B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. in two areas of psychology from the University of California, Berkeley and completed a three-year fellowship in Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine.

Rebecca Reed Ph.D.

Dr. Becky Reed obtained her B.A. from George Washington University, and her M.A. and Ph.D. from Columbia University. She works with adolescents, adults, and couples with a range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, learning disorders, and identity-related issues. Her theoretical orientation is integrative - she employs cognitive behavioral, insight-oriented, mindfulness, and systems approaches, as needed. Dr. Reed is also a Lecturer at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Laura Conte, MA

Laura obtained her BA in Management from Hartwick College and her Masters degree in Special and Elementary Education from Manhattanville College.  She provides executive function and ADHD coaching at CAPS Greenwich and also serves as the chief learning specialist at the Mead School in Stamford, CT. Before joining Mead, she served as Regional Director for EBS Healthcare, the Education Director at The Pinnacle School, and Director of Assessment and Instruction/Elementary at King School.

Stephanie Nodzo LMSW

Stephanie Nodzo LMSW obtained her social work degree from the University of Southern California.  She has more than 8 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults across a wide range of clinical diagnoses including depression, anxiety, autism, attentional problems, emotion dysregulation, and oppositional defiant disorders.

Robert Glanz Ph.D.

Dr. Glanz received his Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin.  He received a post-doctoral certificate in clinical psychology from Columbia University and additional training at Harvard Medical School. Prior to joining the Center, he was the founder and clinical director of a multi-state, multi-specialty health psychology group. He works with adults with a broad range of difficulties and has special expertise working with medical patients who have experienced cardiac events.

Joseph Sands, PsyD

Dr. Sands received his MA and PsyD from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.  He has extensive experience with a broad range of clinical populations and conducts neuropsychological assessments at both CAPS Westchester and CAPS Greenwich.  He also sees adolescents, adults, couples, and families in psychotherapy. He has an eclectic framework and utilizes a broad range of clinical approaches.

 
 
 

Jennifer Nielsen Psy.D.

Dr. Nielsen received a B.A. in psychology from the University of Michigan, a M.S. in education from Pace University, a master’s equivalent certificate in applied behavioral analysis (ABA), and a Psy.D. in school and clinical psychology from Pace University. She has an eclectic orientation and extensive experience working with elementary, middle, and high school children as well as adults across a range of problem areas including depression, anxiety, ADHD, learning differences and autism spectrum disorders. She also serves as a school psychologist in the Greenwich CT school district.

Catherine (Cat) Jennings

Cat is in charge of day-to-day administration at the Center and is involved in marketing and business development.  She graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in journalism and communications and studied digital marketing at Columbia University. She has worked at a number of high-profile companies including Hewlett-Packard, Procter & Gamble, and Nestlé.  

Matthew Gruen B.S. 

Matthew received a B.S. in biochemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles.  He is currently the clinical and research coordinator at CAPS and is in charge of operations. He is also a postgraduate research associate in the Department of Neurology, Yale University School of Medicine.

Karen Kramer M.A. M.S. LCSW

Karen earned her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from Harvard University, her M.A. in clinical psychology from Yeshiva University, and her M.S. in social work from Columbia University. She sees children and adolescents with a wide range of behavioral and emotional problems including, but not limited to: anxiety, ADHD, depression, and oppositionality. She has expertise working with parents of neurodivergent children, helping them manage the challenges inherent in these conditions. Karen’s practice is informed by both her fields of graduate training, as well as by her own experience as a parent of two young adults, one of whom is neurodivergent. She is also certified by the Tourette Association of America as a provider of CBIT – Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics – a form of habit-reversal therapy.

Lauren Haimes M.S.

Lauren Haimes received a B.A. and M.B.A from Union College and a M.S. in mental health counseling from Pace University. She works with adolescents and young adults with a range of diagnoses and has expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).

Nicole Barile-Lippman Ph.D.

Nicole Barile-Lippman Ph.D. received her B.A. from Binghamton University and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Hofstra University in NY. She is an expert in cognitive-behavioral therapy and works with a wide range of problems in older children, adolescents, and adults. She is also an adjunct professor at Brooklyn College where she teaches CBT methods to graduate students. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies.
